Item Ação dos óleos essenciais de copaíba e melaleuca em microrganismos envolvidos na mastite subclínica de vacas sob sistema orgânico de produção(Universidade Brasil, 2020) Oliveira, Anderson Guimarães; Melo, Gabriel Maurício Peruca de; Bertipaglia, Liandra Maria AbakerItem Aderência às legislações vigentes por parte das empresas de alimentação natural para cães e gatos(Universidade Brasil, 2021) Frias, Juliana Lopes; Putarov, Thaila Cristina; Pereira, Luiz Arthur MaltaThe humanization of pets has intensified in recent years, this phenomenon has generated an increase in demand for natural foods by dog and cat owners and heated up the pet food market. As a result, there are numerous natural food manufacturers that need information to produce safe foods that meet the requirements of animals. The objective of this dissertation was to collect data and develop technical, simple and objective technical products on regulations, legislation and Good Manufacturing and Food Handling Practices. The study was divided into three stages: (i) development of a virtual questionnaire aimed at natural food manufacturing establishments (homemade); (ii) application of the questionnaire for data collection; (iv) development of technological orienting technical products. The virtual questionnaire was sent to 21 establishments. Ten responses were obtained from the questionnaire, with 90% of establishments selling natural food cooked and frozen. Only 30% of establishments have a technical manager (RT) or advisor for food production. Opportunities for action in this sector can be seen, which is lacking in professionals and adequate technical information. Technological orienting technical products were developed, being: (a) two e-books addressing the following topics: (1) “Why invest in natural food for dogs and cats?”, and (2) “Importance of Good Handling Practices Food in the diet of dogs and cats”; (b) digital platform where content interactivity with the insertion of videos was sought; and (c) profile on social media (Instagram) for dissemination of content and dissemination of consultancy and/or advisory services.Item Aditivo à base de resíduo de mandioca e inoculante bacteriano para silagens de capim elefante BRS Capiaçu(Universidade Brasil, 2021) Santos, Anderson Braun dos; Brennecke, KätheryDuring dry periods, there is a drop in the availability and quality of pastures, the main source of food for ruminants in the country, which impairs animal productivity. The use of alternative additives such as agro-industrial residues can be used as additives in silage production. Therefore, the present study aimed to evaluate the fermentative profile, gas and effluent losses, chemical composition and in situ ruminal degradability of BRS Capiaçu elephant grass silage with an additive formulated based on cassava residue, bacterial inoculant Lactobacillus buchneri and urea. The experiment was conducted at the Federal Institute of Rondônia (IFRO), Colorado do Oeste Campus. For the preparation of the formulated additive, cassava residue was used, with moisture reduced to approximately 89% of dry matter. The dry material was mixed with urea and Lactobacillus buchneri. The proportion of 1% of livestock urea on the total weight of cassava meal was used. The inoculant used was Lalsil AS® with Lactobacillus buchneri composition at a concentration of 1.0 x 1011 CFU/g. The dose applied in treatments with the inoculant was equivalent to 1g of commercial additive per ton of natural forage matter. The inoculant and urea were mixed with 100g of cassava meal and this first portion was mixed with the total amount of additive used. The treatments consisted of the levels of inclusion of the additive in the silage, as follows: 0%, 5%, 10%, 15%, 20% and 25%. Thus, it was observed that the silages that did not receive the additive had less than ideal dry matter content. Inclusion levels of 5% and 10% provided adequate DM levels for BRS Capiaçu silage. For the variable gas loss (PG), pH and ether extract (EE), there were no significant differences between the inclusion levels. The NDF values decreased as the inclusion of the formulated additive was increased, results that ranged from 71% to 33.21%. The NDFi values obtained after 288 hours of ruminal incubation showed significant differences between treatments. A significant difference was observed for the mineral matter (MM) variable, the MM content of the formulated additive is lower than that of Capiaçu. The inclusion of the formulated additive in the BRS Capiaçu elephant grass silage linearly reduced the crude protein (CP) content in the additive silages. Thus, it can be concluded that the use of the additive in BRS Capiaçu elephant grass silage changed the parameters evaluated when compared to silage without the use of these additives, benefiting mainly in the reduction of effluents produced.Item Aditivos zootécnicos associados aos antimicrobianos sobre o desempenho, diferencial de leucócitos e atividade de fagocitose de frangos de corte(Universidade Brasil, 2022) Castro, Kenes Leonel de Morais; Sgavioli, Sarah; Santos, Elaine TalitaThe use of zootechnical additives in poultry is an important tool to assist in synergy with the action of antimicrobial performance enhancers (APE). Therefore, the aim of this study was to evaluate the use of zootechnical additives in association with APE on the performance, leukocyte differential and phagocytosis activity of broilers. Were used, 1,400 male chicks of the Cobb® lineage, one day old, distributed in a completely randomized experimental design, with seven treatments, eight replications with 25 birds per experimental unit. The treatments were composed of a basal diet without the use of APE, a basal diet with the addition of APE; basal diet with APE + prebiotics 1 (fructooligosaccharides and galactooligosaccharides) and 2 (1.3 and 1.6 beta-glucans and mannanoligosaccharides); basal diet with APE + prebiotic 1; basal diet with APE + probiotic (Bacillus subtillis LFU160); basal diet with APE + essential oil (cashew nut shell liquid (CSL) and basal diet with APE + organic acid (glycerides of butyric acid). There was an effect (P<0.05) on weight gain, feed intake, feed conversion and the productive efficiency index for broilers from 1 to 44 days of age, with better results for treatments with zootechnical additives plus APE. There was also an effect (P<0.05) on variables related to phagocytosis activity, in general, treatments without APE and with APE, without the use of additives, had the highest percentages and number of occurrences of this activity. The use of zootechnical additives associated with antimicrobials performance enhancers can be used in diets for broiler from 1 to 44 days of age, as they contribute to performance, as well as helping to modulate the poultry's immune system. It can be concluded that zootechnical additives can be used in association with APE to ensure better feed conversion of birds from 1 to 44 days of age and better development of the immune system of broilers, especially in the initial phase.Item Ambiência, comportamento ejaculatório e parâmetros do sêmen de garanhões Quarto de milha(Universidade Brasil, 2023) Rissi, Letícia Sarro; Brennecke, Käthery; Orlandi, Cássia Maria BarrosoThe environment in which horses are placed, especially those undergoing reproductive management, is an important aspect to be evaluated. Since reproductive processes can be influenced by well-being issues, disruptions in physiological factors caused by stress can interfere with reproductive performance. The objective of this study was to assess the influence of the collection room ambiance on the behavior, semen volume, and concentration of Quarter Horse stallions. The stallions used had weights ranging from 416 to 505 kg and ages within active sexual maturity, varying from 6 to 24 years, selected based on fertility index. The experimental design employed was a dependent paired-sample design with four stallions. Movements during mounting and dismounting were observed, with a chronological recording of copulatory behavior using a camera attached to a mobile device (Samsung, model SM-A107 M/DS, Galaxy A 10s). Parameters such as muscle contraction, tail movement, and pawing were documented by day, month, and time, with identification of each animal. This analysis was initially conducted at normal video speed, and subsequently, for confirmation, the video speed was slowed down to work with each behavior separately. The frequency (number) of each activity involved in the process and the elapsed time (in seconds) for each activity were recorded. These data were then correlated with the ambiance, assessed by local internal and external temperature, digital device (dry and wet bulb), wind speed, dew point, relative humidity, and black globe index. The model also considered semen volume and concentration. The results did not reveal any influence of the collection room ambiance on the behavior, semen volume, and concentration of Quarter Horse stallions.Item Análise do crescimento e desenvolvimento de probióticos no leite(Universidade Brasil, 2021) Saggiorato, Vitor Franzin; Soares, Vando EdésioProbiotics are live microorganisms that provide health benefits to the host, promoting the balance of the intestinal microbiota. When administered in smaller amounts, it reduces the effects of lactose intolerance, immunomodulation, protects against pathogenic microorganisms, has anticarcinogenic activity and liver regeneration. Its use in animal nutrition has been researched and increasingly accepted, especially after restrictions on the use of antimicrobials. Development parameters for the symbiotic association of bacteria and yeasts, ASBL (kefir), were elaborated to optimize their production. Type A whole milk and powdered milk with 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5% ASBL were used as substrate, with four replications in a germination chamber type BOD at a temperature of 30ºC for 24 hours. The pH and weight gain of ASBL, yeast dough yield (kefiran) and whey (kefiraride) were evaluated. In conclusion, for an industrial scale production, the most suitable is to use powdered milk in a concentration of 4% of ASBL, since the company in question (research funder) presents a difficulty in the transport and storage processes of the type A milk, which would need refrigeration.Item Aplicativo da legislação para exportação de proteína animal(Universidade Brasil, 2022) Fiumaro, José Eduardo Covas; Brennecke, Käthery; Pereira, Luiz Arthur MaltaThe present work aimed to highlight the need, convenience and application of Information Systems, as well as their technologies, as a way of integrating, facilitating, managing and promoting interfaces of normative, legal and administrative operations of Foreign Trade, with emphasis in the export of animal protein, of Brazilian origin, involving the entire logistics and production chain. For the effective demonstration of such aspects, implementations and results, an Information System was used, where an application was developed whose purpose is to gather as much information about the export legislation for the producer, who is dedicated to the provision of services for exporting animal protein. For the creation of this application, the following programming languages were used: all combined: PHP, HTML, Java Scrips, CSS and bootstrap, functioning as a database, which when accessed, you can search for all relevant legislation the export of animal protein. In this way, the present work sought to highlight the fundamental aspects to the integration of the legislation pertinent to the export of animal protein aiming at the improvement of the export processes, from the slaughterhouse to the final international destination. With this, the research developed gives rise to the implementation of the export of animal protein based on the national legal system, facilitating the process of analysis at the source of the legislation.Item Aplicativo de apoio ao produtor rural na construção da instalação para animais de produção(Universidade Brasil, 2018) Bardi, Cassia Cristina Tannuri Gomes; Pereira, Luiz Arthur Malta; Bertipaglia, Liandra Maria AbakerItem Aprimoramento de sensor de ambiência para índices de conforto térmico em instalações de bovinos leiteiros(Universidade Brasil, 2022) Zampieri, João Henrique; Brennecke, Käthery; Pereira, Luiz Arthur MaltaAgribusiness is one of the most prominent economic activities in Brazil, and cattle farming is one of the most representative of them, but there is still a need for advances for it to remain competitive. The biggest stressor in dairy cattle farming is the climate, more specifically the heat, which affects considerably the welfare of the animals. In this context, the environment influences the living conditions of an organism, and the climate and the ability to adapt are responsible for influencing the behavior of the animals. In order to determine the effects of heat stress on animals, indices of thermal comfort have been developed taking into account climatic and/or physiological variables, helping producers and researchers to find the best means to reduce the stress caused by heat and determine the best time for measures to be implemented in order to provide thermal comfort to animals. Among the indices proposed in the literature, the temperature-humidity index (THI) and the black globe temperature and humidity index (BGTHI) stand out. Regarding rural workers, among the several existing thermal comfort indexes, we can highlight the thermal discomfort index (TDI). In order to obtain an ideal thermal environment for cattle in warm climatic regions, it is necessary to adequately monitor the environment to provide welfare to production animals and to achieve satisfactory zootechnical performance. In this sense, precision dairy farming, a management system based on information technology, enables greater control of animal and environmental variables, improving the performance of the dairy farm. To obtain values of climatic variables, there are devices known as dataloggers, which are nothing more than electronic devices that record data collected over a period of time, through sensors on its platform and that allow the calculation of thermal comfort indexes. In this work the objective was to improve a datalogger sensor capable of collecting biometeorological data from a dairy farm and transform them into ambience indices, providing the thermal classification of the environment to the producer. For this, a microcontrolled Arduino platform was used, with temperature and relative humidity sensors attached to it. The prototype read the climatic variables providing the values of air temperature, relative humidity, black globe temperature, dew point temperature, THI, BGTHI, TDI and thermal classification of the environment in favorable (comfort), alert (cold and heat) and danger (intense cold, intense heat and unbearable heat), thus responding to the producer's demand and consequently assisting in decision making regarding the appropriate management for the animal and rural worker welfare.Item Aspectos econômico-financeiros da brucelose bovina no estado de Rondônia(Universidade Brasil, 2024) Ambrósio, Rogério Santos; Orlandi, Cássia Maria BarrosoThe study aimed to analyze, from an economic-financial perspective, bovine brucellosis in the State of Rondônia from 2014 to 2023. Brucellosis poses significant challenges for public health and the economy at both national and state levels. Although the prevalence of bovine brucellosis in Rondônia has shown a trend of reduction over the years, challenges still remain, despite the successfully implemented vaccination and health control programs. Thus, economic-financial aspects regarding the costs of combating bovine brucellosis have been demonstrated. The comparison with the national scenario shows that Rondônia faces similar challenges to other regions of Brazil, highlighting the importance of control strategies tailored to local characteristics. To advance in the control of brucellosis, it is essential to integrate efforts in epidemiological surveillance, vaccination, and health education, with cooperation between state and federal governments and the active participation of rural producers playing a crucial role. The economic-financial benefits to society are evident when private resources are invested in actions against brucellosis, as the return is $3.00 for every $1.00 invested.Item Ativos e passivos florestais no uso e ocupação do solo de Rondônia: a relação entre pecuária e desflorestamento na microrregião de Ariquemes(Universidade Brasil, 2018) Resende Filho, Edson; Brennecke, KätheryItem Avaliação da qualidade do leite UHT, quanto aos parâmetros: alizarol, acidez dornic, densidade e presença de formaldeído de nove marcas comercializadas no município de Ji-Paraná-RO(Universidade Brasil, 2018) Gasparotto, Paulo Henrique Gilio; Soares, Vando EdésioItem Avaliação da técnica de controle físico da população de carrapato Rhipicephalus (Boophilus) microplus, no município de Cacoal - RO(Universidade Brasil, 2016) Araújo, Kleberson Conrado; Soares, Vando EdésioItem Avaliação do sêmen fresco e criopreservado de garanhões suplementados com antioxidantes e compostos naturais(Universidade Brasil, 2023) Melo, Gizele Monsueth; Orlandi, Cássia Maria BarrosoSêmen cryopreservation before the period of natural mounting can optimize the use of biotechnology during the reproductive period. However, stallions can be improved as far as supplementation (supp) with antioxidants and natural compounds, a specialty out of the reproductive season. Thus, the diet of four Quarter Horse Stallions was supplemented during 75 days by a commercial product: folic acid, Beta Carotene, L- Carnitine, milled whole flaxseed, Vitamin C and E. Experimental period initiated with sêmen being collected for basal biological leveling (exhaustion of sperm reserves), followed by sêmen collection for criopreservation (phase 1). After this period, the supp was initiated and at its finalization, a new phase was performed by basal biological leveling (n= 6 collection x 4= 24) and sêmen collection for criopreservation (n=24) successively. Despite the fact that 96 ejaculates were obtained, only 24 pre and post supp were cryopreserved and compared after thawing. Fresh sêmen variables were analyzed immediately after collection and submitted to Box Plot representation, without significant differences. After thawing sêmen straws, previously processes in respective moments pre and post supp, were then submitted to CASA (Computerized assisted sperm analysis) and kinetics variables were determined. Other variables as: sperm plasma membrane integrity were assessed by fluorescent probes and morphology by phase contrast microscopy, but no significant differences were found. Criopreserved sêmen data was submitted to PROC MIX, from SAS; and resulted in significant differences as far as variables from kinetics by CASA: motility, velocity, movement amplitude ( superior for pre vs post supp) and linear and rectilinear ( superior at post versus pre supp).Item Avaliação dos custos da IATF e TETF na produção de bezerros PO da raça Nelore(Universidade Brasil, 2024) Polli, Marcos Gabriel Carneiro; Orlandi, Cássia Maria BarrosoReproductive efficiency is fundamental for high genetic beef cattle herds and not always quickly, capital turnover achieved. The literature is scarce about evaluation of finance information in terms of high genetic calf production. This evaluation is important, considering the high value in capital invested. The present study evaluated two reproductive biotechnologies TAI (timed artificial insemination ) and FTET (fixed timed embryo transfer), considering costs, losses and profits of activities in two retreat farm which are from the same property in Comodoro, Mato Grosso, during the breeding season of 2022 to 2023. At Retreat 1, 432 Nelore pure bred beef cattle were submitted to TAI protocols, while at Retreat 2, 375 half blood Nelore cattle were used as recipient cattle for FTET. The embryos transferred were from in vitro production laboratory, being IVF (in vitro fertilized) embryos processed for storage based on distinct methodologies: fresh, vitrified and DT (direct transferred). The TAI resulted in 311 pregnant cattle, representing 72% of pregnancy rates, R$ 228.200,00; total costs and R$ 733,76 cost for pregnancy; while FTET resulted in 243 pregnant recipient, with 65% of pregnancy rates, with R$ 287.787,00, total costs and R$ 1.183,48 cost for pregnancy. Regarding the Nelore pure bred calf production costs, the numbers and costs were respectively TAI (n= 276) and R$ 826,81; while for FTET (n= 175), the costs were R$ 1.644,50. FTET exceeded TAI in R$ 59.587,00; considering high pregnancy losses for this biotechnology until birth of calves , which represented 28% of FTET lost rate, resulting in additional 11% of losses compared to TAI (17%) lost rate. FTET have currently being implanted, nevertheless, measures and criteria needed to be adjusted, as nutrition and reproductive management; all those aspects searching for sanitary control, which would certainly minimize the findings reported unitl the present moment.Item Avaliação dos níveis de cálcio e fósforo presentes em dietas BARF e Prey model para cães adultos e em crescimento(Universidade Brasil, 2023) Moura, Angélica Kischener de; Zeferino, Cynthia Pieri; Soares, Vando EdésioThe change in the consumer profile of pet owners and the increased concern with the ingredients present in the commercial complete diets has led to more owners opting to offer homemade diets, based on diet recommendations found on websites. Among the homemade diets’ varieties, raw diets are gaining more supporters in Brazil, with emphasis on BARF (biologically aproppriate raw food), which consists of raw meats with or without bones, offal and a small percentage of vegetables, fruits, and seeds, and also prey model, which does not include any vegetables, only meats with or without bones and offal. .The objective of this study was to evaluate the composition of calcium and phosphorus in homemade raw diets in the BARF and prey model modalities and compare them with the recommendations of the European Pet Food Industry Federation (FEDIAF, 2021), in addition to evaluating the relationships between these two nutrients. Thirty homemade raw diets were evaluated, 20 in the BARF category (10 for adult and 10 for growing dogs) and 10 in the prey model category (all for both adults and growth). To compose the diets, the instructions described on websites in English were followed to determine the percentage of ingredients for each physiological phase. Bromatological analyzes were carried out on the nine ingredients of animal origin that contained bones (whole quail, whole rabbit, chicken foot, chicken head, chicken neck, chicken thigh, chicken drumstick, chicken back and chicken wing) to obtain calcium and phosphorus levels. The nutritional composition of foods was estimated using software. Of the 30 formulations evaluated, none reached the minimum values for calcium, phosphorus and Ca/P ratio recommended by FEDIAF, (2021), with calcium being the nutrient with the highest incidence of values below the recommendation. The results highlight the presence of nutritional inconsistencies in the recommendations for raw diets with bones in the BARF and prey model modalities on the websites and reinforce the need for care when formulating a homemade raw food for dogs in different physiological phases.
