Item Plasma rico em plaquetas (PRP) e sua associação com Ozonioterapia de volume controlado no rejuvenescimento facial: estudo piloto(Universidade Brasil, 2023) Camargo, Carla Lúcia de; Garcia, Lívia AssisSkin aging is a complex biological process, resulting from a combination of intrinsic and extrinsic factors which causes progressive structural and functional changes, as well as changes in the appearance of the skin, especially in photo-exposed areas. Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) and ozone therapy (OT) have been suggested in clinical practice as promising and adjuvant therapies, however, the evidence is limited for their recommendations. Thus, the aim of the present study was to evaluate and compare the safety and efficacy of PRP in combination with volume-controlled OT in facial aging. To achieve this goal, a single-center prospective pilot study was conducted. Female participants, aged 40 to 60 years, were randomized into 2 groups: PRP Group (PRP): participants that underwent PRP applications; PRP and ozone therapy group (PRPOT): participants that underwent PRP applications associated with ozone therapy. Interventions were performed using the facial intradermal technique in 42 pre established points, totaling 4 sessions with an interval of 15 days between them. PRP was performed with the first centrifugation at 200 g for 10 min and the second at 400 g for 10 min. Volume-controlled OT was added to the PRP at a concentration of 30 µg/mL in a 1:1 ratio. For assessment and reassessment, analyses were performed using photographic records, assessment of frontal, periorbital, nasolabial and marionette wrinkles (Wrinkle Assessment Scale - WAS), self-esteem assessment (Brazilian Version of Rosenberg's Self-Esteem Scale) and assessment of patient satisfaction (FACE -Q). The results show that, at the end of the treatment, the PRP and PRPOT groups had a lower score for frontal and periorbital wrinkles assessed in the WAS and overall, an improvement in self-esteem and an increase in the satisfaction score with the treatment. However, the PRPOT had a lower score for globalwrinkles and higher levels of treatment satisfaction compared to the PRP. Thus, it canbe suggested that the PRP protocol performed in the present study, as well as its association with volume-controlled OT, proved to be safe and potentially promising modalities in the treatment of facial aging.
