Aspectos físico-químicos e microbiológicos do processo fermentativo da Kombucha
(Universidade Brasil, 2022) Magno, Mara Paula; Soares, Vando Edésio
Kombucha is a fermented beverege, prepared from the fermantation of green tea and or sweetened black tea (Camellia Sinensis), and in a symbiotic culture process called Simbiotic Culture of Bacteria and Yeast (SCOBY), at room or controlled temperatura. It is considered a probiotic drink that balances the intestinal flora and strengthens the imune system. Changes in physical and chemical parameters must be observed during fermentation in order to have a better concentration and production. Aiming to explore other areas of consumption, as well as the animal área, this research aims to find the best range of production of this SCOBY evaluating the dynamics and growth of SCOBY symbiosis in kombucha with diferent concentrations of tea and sugar. The growth in animal nutrition has led to the emergence of a new generation of products to help balance the microbiota of animals. Green tea leaves at concentration of 0,6%, 0,8% and 1,2% and crystal sugar at concentration of 6% and 8% were used as substrate resultingin six treatments with four replications of 200 ml each. In a BOD type germination chamber, it was incubated at a temperature of 27°C over a total period of 14 days, starting from day 0 of fermentation. The parameters of pH, brix, SCOBY weight and colony forming unit (UFC) were evaluated. Thus, it can be concluded that for the SCOBY weight parameters and UFC for the concentration a of 1,2% of green tea and 8,0% of sucrose is the most indicated, there was interaction providing SCOBY weight again. For the pH parameter, related to green tea the best concentration was 0,6% and 0,8% and with sugar substrate the best concentration was 8,0%. For the Brix parameter, with analog measurement, the values were very homogeneous, showing no variability between the readings taken in the different concentrations of green tea and sucrose.

Apicectomia e curetagem apical: relato de caso.
(Universidade Brasil, 2024) Santos, Amanda Ferreira Paulo dos; Ana Claudia Rodrigues da Silva
Endodontic treatment failure can be identified through clinical and radiographic evaluations, with symptoms such as spontaneous pain, sensitivity to palpation, vertical percussion pain, swelling, and the presence of periapical lesions. When these signs are detected, endodontic retreatment is usually the first approach; however, if this option is not feasible, periapical surgery may be recommended. The literature describes several techniques for these cases, including periapical curettage, apicoectomy, surgery with retrograde obturation, and retro-instrumentation with retro-obturation. The aim of this study is to report the case of a 41-year-old female patient who sought dental care due to the emergence of an intraoral fistula. After clinical and radiographic examinations, she was diagnosed with chronic periapical abscess in tooth 12. In the first consultation, a coronal access was performed, and root canal instrumentation was carried out up to the apical third, followed by intracanal medication with Ultracal for 15 days. In the second consultation, the persistence of the fistula led to the re-opening of the canal, re-instrumentation, and substitution of the medication, which remained for 30 days. In the third consultation, the regression of the fistula was noted, and the canal was obturated with Sealapex cement. However, after 30 days, the patient returned with the reappearance of the fistula. Given this scenario, periapical surgery was indicated and scheduled, including apicoectomy of the apical third and curettage of the endodontic lesion. Following the procedure, the patient did not report pain upon apical palpation, sensitivity to vertical percussion, spontaneous pain, or recurrence of the fistula during the 7-month postoperative follow-up. conclusion: When conventional endodontic treatment methods are not applicable or complications occur during the procedure, periapical surgery proves to be an effective alternative to preserve the tooth, restoring health, aesthetics, and function to the patient.

Determinantes da adesão retenção e estabilidade em próteses totais convencionais

Conventional complete dentures are a widely adopted solution for the rehabilitation of edentulous patients, with the aim of restoring both oral functionality and aesthetics. However, the success of these prostheses is directly linked to their retention and stability, which are essential for the comfort and effectiveness of the treatment. Objectives: The present study aims to analyze and summarize the factors that influence adhesion, retention, and stability in conventional complete dentures, providing evidence-based guidelines that can assist dental professionals in improving clinical practices and, consequently, the quality of life of patients. Material and Methods: An integrative literature review was carried out, focusing on articles published in the last 20 years in databases such as PubMed and Scielo. The search included specific terms related to retention and stability in complete dentures, prioritizing systematic reviews, controlled clinical trials, and cohort studies. The studies were selected and analyzed based on their methodological quality, relevance of the results, and contribution to current knowledge on the subject. Results and Discussion: The analysis of the studies revealed that the retention and stability of complete dentures are influenced by a series of interrelated factors. Among the anatomical factors, the morphological characteristics of the oral cavity, such as the height and shape of the alveolar ridge, stand out, which directly influence the adhesion of the denture. Physiological factors, such as the quality and quantity of saliva and muscle tone, also play a crucial role in retention. Regarding materials, the choice of prosthesis components, including acrylic resin and other materials used, can significantly affect its performance. Conclusion: This study concludes that the retention and stability of conventional complete dentures are the result of a complex interaction between anatomical, physiological and material factors. A personalized approach, which considers the specificities of each patient, is essential to optimize rehabilitation results. The practical application of the evidence discussed can lead to significant improvements in treatments, increasing patient satisfaction and the effectiveness of the dentures.

A repercussão da lei nª14.454/2022 na cobertura obrigatória dos planos de assistência à saúde
(Universidade Brasil, 2023) Pessoa, Aline Cais; Baldan, Gustavo Antônio Nelson
The present work aims to understand the legislative movement for the resolution of the controversy of the legal nature of the "List of Procedures of the ANS" through the enactment of Law number 14.454/2022, through the analysis of the right to health as a constitutional guarantee, the formation of contracts of health care plans and jurisprudential precedents on the subject. This is because there was a great legal divergence between the courts to analyze the need to cover treatments and/or procedures that were not foreseen in the aforementioned list. For this purpose, exploratory research of a qualitative nature is used, embodied in bibliographical and documentary research, as well as analysis of the abundant jurisprudence that has developed over the years on the subject. From this, the repercussion that the new law will have for society and for the agreements is problematized, under the financial and constitutional focus, as well as the overlap of the public interest over the private one. It is concluded that the constitutional right to health will remain guaranteed, but the judicialization of the issue continues under different aspects and in the face of different subjects, until a new law or decision comes in that is capable of efetível remedying the issue
