Item Reabilitação mandibular total fixa sobre quatro implantes all on four(Universidade Brasil, 2016) Antonio, Gláucia Lopes; Haleplian, Paulo; Rocha, Bruno SoaresThe fixed oral rehabilitation of edentulous ridges has been supported by the literature and successfully used in everyday practice. However, professionals are challenged daily to seek new treatment options, because there are still some limitations in rehabilitation treatment. In some cases of edentulous patients, treatment with implant-supported prosthesis it is almost impossible without complex techniques such as nerve transposition and grafting in the posterior maxilla and mandible. A technique described in the literature that has been used very successfully is called the All-on-four. It consists of the insertion of four implants, and the inclined distal and loading with immediate loading. Allowing the placement of longer implants, Improving support prosthetic arm less "cantilevered" distance inter implant and anchoring in the bone. The aim of this study is to make a literature review on the All-on-four system rehabilitation with immediate loading in edentulous jaws, evaluating whether this is a safe and feasible technique.Item A relação do hábito de fumar e doença periodontal(Universidade Brasil, 2016) Silva, Luciana de Oliveira; Poiatti, Priscila Fernanda; Ramos, Silvana de Matos; Radaelli, Sônia Maria da CostaSmoking is considered a risk factor for many oral and systemic diseases, which cause a number of problems in the health of the individual. What denotes the influence of smoking on periodontal diseases is the destruction of tissues, these tissues were analyzed in the course of this work through the literature review, which covered the etiology of periodontal disease and how smoking has influenced the progression of the disease, as well as tissue recovery during and after periodontal therapy, both in Smokers, non-smokers, and others who ceased with habit during longitudinal studies. It is extremely important for both the professional and the population to know the harmful effects of tobacco on oral and systemic health, in this way the professional will perform a treatment with a better prognosis and as the patient, through the information, will understand that better results will be noticed with the discontinuation of cigarette use.Item Eficácia do laser de baixa potência na aceleração do movimento ortodôntico(Universidade Brasil, 2020) Vilela, Caroline Marinho; Lopes, Fernanda Aparecida; Sant’Ana Neto, Antônio LucioItem A influência da utilização dos dessensibilizantes na ação dos clareadores: revisão de literatura(Universidade Brasil, 2020) Prado, Karoline Sierra Martinez; Sousa, Mariana Assis de; Martins, José LucasModern dentistry aims not only to maintain and prevent oral health, but also to achieve a better dental aesthetic. The demands with the smile more harmonious and more visually pleasing, more and more passes, due to the current appeal of aesthetics for increasingly whiter teeth. The search for this shade of color imposes challenges to both the patient and the professional as to the safe use of whitening techniques and substances. Although minimally invasive, tooth whitening can produce an uncomfortable post-operative sensitivity. Whitening substances, carbamide peroxide and hydrogen peroxide, due to the permeability of dental tissues reach the chromophores breaking their long chains by oxidation producing the much desired whitening effect, and precisely this free oxygen, acting in the dentinal tubules at higher concentrations can produce this transient sensitivity. Although transient this uncomfortable side effect frightens away countless patients from our offices; with the aim of helping to reduce these effects we propose through a review of the literature to look for techniques and products that help us in reducing dental sensitivity, analyzing their effects and possible interferences in the results of dental whitening, for this review we will use the databases: Pub Med, Bireme, Lillacs, Google Scholar, Virtual Public Health Library, CAPES and Scielo Journals, published between 2000 and 2020.Item Atuação do cirurgião dentista nas unidades de tratamento intensivo do covid -19(Universidade Brasil, 2022) Nunes, Maria Eduarda Araújo; Guiati, Isabella ZacarinItem Saúde bucal em pacientes com sequelas de acidente vascular cerebral AVC(Universidade Brasil, 2022) Zequim, Francini de Souza; Fernandes, Karina Gonzalez Camara; Moreti, Lucieni Cristina TrovatiItem O impacto do tabagismo como influenciador na doença Peri-implantar(Universidade Brasil, 2022) Rodrigues, Felipe Fonseca; Debortoli, Caio Vinícius LourençoItem Lesões cervicais não cariosas e sua relação com a hipersensibilidade dentinária(Universidade Brasil, 2022) Silva, Clara Mulller da; Rossi, Roberta MirandolaItem Extração preventiva de terceiros molares(Universidade Brasil, 2022) Souza, André Guilherme; Fabris, André Luís da SilvaItem Protocolo clínico abscesso apical agudo(Universidade Brasil, 2022) Falci, Tais Torrente; Silva, Ana Claudia Rodrigues daItem Agenesia dos incisivos laterais superiores: relato de caso(Universidade Brasil, 2022) Alves, Bianca Moreira; Conforte, Jadison JuniorItem A importância dos programas de educação e motivação para saúde bucal nas escolas(Universidade Brasil, 2022) Silva, Laíza Ferreira; Rossi, Roberta Mirandola MileItem A utilização de pistas diretas planas no tratamento precoce da mordida cruzada anterior: relato de caso(Universidade Brasil, 2023) Oliveira, Thiago Motta; Rolim , Valéria Cristina Lopes de Barros; Souza , José Antonio SantosAnterior crossbite is a change in the buccolingual relationship between the upper and lower incisors, in which all incisors or just one upper incisor occludes on the lingual surface of the lower incisors. When this occlusopathy is diagnosed in primary and mixed dentitions, early intervention can be employed with the use of Planas direct track. If early treatment is not carried out, this change can lead to bone changes, therefore requiring the use of orthodontic and/or orthopedic appliances. The objective of the present study was to report a clinical case of anterior crossbite in a pediatric dentistry patient, in which preventive orthodontics was performed using a Planas direct track in order to avoid future problems in bone development, thus improving occlusion. of the patient. Patient R.P.C.V., male, 6 years old, attended the Pediatric Dentistry Clinic of Universidade Brasil, Campus Fernandópolis-SP for dental treatment. During the initial clinical examination, it was noticed that teeth 52, 51, 61 and 62 were occluding on the lingual surface of the lower incisors; In this way, the diagnosis of anterior crossbite was reached. After evaluating the case, it was decided to carry out a direct Planas trail. For this, direct Flat tracks were made with Composite Resin on teeth 52, 51 and 61. It was possible to notice the uncrossing of the anterior crossbite of the patient in question. The patient is being monitored at the Pediatric Dentistry Clinic at Universidade Brasil. The etiology of crossbite is multifactorial. Early interventions, such as the use of the Planas direct track, can promote harmonious development of the stomatognathic system. The technique used in this case has shown good results. This approach is considered a neuro occlusal rehabilitation, since the action occurs in the neural receptor centers that will result in a response to the stomatognathic system, where occlusal interferences will be identified and removed. The advantages of this technique are: low cost and ease of manufacture. It can be concluded that early treatment with Planas direct track is a minimally invasive approach that can be used to correct and prevent future problems. As observed in this case report, this treatment presents a favorable and rapid result and can even be carried out in children who present behavioral difficulties.Item O impacto das facetas de resina composta na busca pela estética e autoconfiança(Universidade Brasil, 2023) Flavio, Gustavo; Ribeiro, Kauan Tiano; Ballaris, Alessandra; Rossi, Roberta Mirandola MileThe search for the perfect smile is gaining prominence in today's society, where image plays a crucial role in social interactions and self-confidence. Aesthetic dentistry emerges as an effective response to this demand, highlighting resin veneers, especially among young people. These veneers provide a conservative and versatile approach to correcting dental imperfections, improving aesthetics and increasing self esteem. This study explores the application of resin veneers in young people, addressing benefits, limitations, clinical indications and psychosocial impacts. There has been a significant change in the profile of patients looking for dental procedures to improve their appearance. People look for solutions for imperfections such as blemishes, slight misalignments and diastemas. In this context, resin veneers emerge as an attractive option, providing satisfactory aesthetic results with less intervention compared to invasive procedures, such as restorations with porcelain veneers. This study aims to explore in depth technical aspects, indications and psychosocial impacts of these aesthetic interventions, contributing to a comprehensive understanding of resin veneers as a viable alternative in the search for improving dental aesthetics, promoting an informed and conscious approach for both dental professionals and interested patients.Item Diagnóstico e tratamento de dentes supranumerários: revisão de literatura(Universidade Brasil, 2023) Carvalho, Adriano Freitas; Santos, Cesar Akira Matunaga; Rossi, Roberta Mirandola MileItem O papel e a importância do cirurgião-dentista na Unidade de Terapia Intensiva(Universidade Brasil, 2023) Bortoloz, Nathália Dias Alves; Fernandes, Karina Gonzalez CamaraPatients hospitalized in Intensive Care Units (ICU) need dental follow-up, due to their unsatisfactory oral conditions that originated before their admission or developed during the hospitalization period, since they are susceptible to oral infections and other injuries resulting from changes in the flow salivary or oral colonization by respiratory pathogens, causing risks and discomfort to critically ill patients, directly interfering with their clinical evolution and quality of life. Therefore, dental care performed by dentists within intensive care units is aimed at preventing, diagnosing and treating infectious processes of the stomatognathic system, providingrelief from pain and symptoms of various oral alterations, which interfere systemic formin the patient. It is indisputable that maintaining the patient's oral health significantly contributes to their clinical improvement and consequently reduces the use of medications and length of hospital stay. Based on this information, the present study aimed to analyze the role and importance of the dental surgeon within the ICUs. With the realization of this, the extreme need for the presence of the dentist became evident, since the studies showed that the patients treated improved their oral and systemic conditions.Item A importância do cirurgião-dentista na unidade hospitalar(Universidade Brasil, 2023) Basso, Bruna; Fernandes, Samuel LucasItem Cirurgia parendodôntica: relato de caso(Universidade Brasil, 2023) Oliveira, Nicole Lauer; Bruzadin, Roberto Nascimento; Silva, Ana Claudia Rodrigues daThe failure of endodontic treatment can be confirmed through clinical and radiographic examinations, with the appearance of spontaneous pain, pain on palpation, vertical percussion, edema and the presence of periapical lesions. Given these signs and symptoms, endodontic retreatment is the first choice and when this is not possible, endodontic surgery is indicated. The main indications for surgery are: difficulty in accessing the root canal through the coronary approach, with the presence of a full metal-ceramic crown and intracanal pin, or calcified root canals with periapical lesions, fractured instruments, deviations, apical perforations and steps. Several techniques are described in the literature, including periapical curettage, apicoectomy, surgery with simultaneous retrograde filling, retro instrumentation with retro-filling are the most used. The objective of this work is to present a case report of a 25-year-old patient who sought out Universidade Brasil after the emergence of intraoral edema. The patient had previous root canal treatment and developed an acute periapical abscess after undergoing internal bleaching. In the 1st session, intraoral drainage and coronary opening were performed with the placement of intracanal medication Formocresol for 48 hours. In the 2nd session, during the removal of the filling material, she found a perforation in the middle third of the root. The filling material was removed to the location of the deviation, and Calcium Hydroxide medication was placed for 20 days. In the 3rd session, the canal was filled with Bio-C Repair (Angelus) and an apicoectomy of the apical third and curettage of the endodontic lesion were performed. The patient did not present pain on apical palpation, vertical percussion, spontaneous pain or edema in the postoperative period and in the 15-day follow-up. The patient will continue to be monitored for evaluation of the repair in the periapical region. When traditional methods of endodontic treatment are not viable, or when there are accidents during the intervention, endodontic surgery is an excellent alternative for maintaining the dental element, promoting health and restoring aesthetics and function to the patient.Item Benefícios do isolamento absoluto em odontologia(Universidade Brasil, 2023) Silva, Bianca Oliveira Gomes da; Mello, Bruno Eduardo Jorge de; Debortoli, CaioItem Protocolos de irrigação intracanal(Universidade Brasil, 2023) Oliveira, Hellen Mayne Silva; Silva, Ana Claudia Rodrigues daEndodontic therapy aims to decontaminate the root canal system in teeth with pulp necrosis in order to eliminate bacteria and prevent periapical infections. Irrigating solution agitation protocols are used to increase the chances of success, favoring the cleaning of sites that are difficult to access, such as accessory canals, apical deltas and dentinal tubules. The aim of this study was to evaluate the irrigants and irrigant solution agitation protocols used in endodontic treatment. A bibliographical survey was carried out, consisting of a search in databases such as Pubmed and Scielo for scientific articles related to the topic. The articles found were read and analyzed and, where relevant, used in the writing of this paper. Sodium hypochlorite is the most widely used in endodontics, in concentrations of 0.5% to 5.25%, it has antimicrobial activity and is effective in dissolving organic tissue. EDTA removes the Smear Layer, unclogging the dentinal tubules, the most commonly used composition is 17%. Another irrigant is Chlorhexidine or Chlorhexidine Digluconate in concentrations of 0.2% to 2.0%. It has antimicrobial activity, but its ability to dissolve organic matter is not effective, so it is more suitable for patients allergic to Sodium Hypochlorite. Among the agitation protocols are Passive Ultrasonic Irrigation (PUI), EasyClean, XPClean and XP-Endo Finisher. Agitation of the irrigation solution increases the chances of success, promoting disinfection of hard-to-reach sites. Among the most commonly used protocols is the combination of 2.5% sodium hypochlorite and 17% EDTA, combined with agitation with PUI and EasyClean.
