Fotobiomodulação como coadjuvante no tratamento da lesão pulmonar aguda decorrente de sepse
(Universidade Brasil, 2020) Dantas, Emanuelle; Garcia, Lívia Assis; Tim, Carla Roberta
Sepsis is a common condition associated with high mortality and, for many who survive, long-term morbidity. It is defined as infection with organ dysfunction, with the lung being one of Organs most affected organs. Acute lung injury (ALI) is a serious and serious disease, characterized by infiltrations of pulmonary inflammatory cells, diffuse alveolar damage, in addition to loss of the alveolar epithelium, together with edema and changes in gas exchange. During the rehabilitation period, there is a growing concern to modulate these processes in order to prevent complications and favor the patient's functional recovery. The therapeutic verification of the applications of photobiomodulation therapies (PBM) through lasers and LEDs) in the clinical treatment of inflammatory diseases is currently well known, however the mechanisms of action triggered by these resources and their use in clinical practice for the treatment of APL due to sepsis still remains incipient. Thus, this thesis aimed to provide an understanding of the current evidence on the importance of PBM in the treatment of respiratory disorders and its possible applicability in APL due to sepsis, as well as to evaluate and compare in vivo the PBM response through laser and LEDs on the LPA in rats. A qualitative, descriptive and exploratory narrative literature review was carried out and an experimental study using male Wistar rats, allocated in 3 (three) experimental groups: Sepsis control (CS); laser treatment (LASER); LED treatment (LED). Irradiations in the red wavelength (630 nm) were applied at three points (anterior region of the trachea and in the ventral regions of the chest, bilaterally) 1 and 24 hours after surgery. Based on all verified evidence and results observed in this study, it is inferred that PBM through laser and LED can be proposed as a support for conventional medical therapy in the treatment of APL arising from sepsis, due to the potential to mitigate the inflammatory condition, prevent the progression of the lung parenchyma lesion and, consequently, reduce the recovery time of the patient with ALI due to sepsis.

Ozonioterapia associada a um programa de exercício na dor e incapacidade de indivíduos com dor lombar crônica: ensaio clínico controlado e randomizado
(Universidade Brasil, 2022) Silva, Rafael Basatos; Garcia, Lívia Assis; Tim, Carla Roberta
Chronic low back pain (CLBP) is one of the most common musculoskeletal disorders, prevalent worldwide and one of the main causes of disability and damage to quality of life, representing a significant economic burden. Ozone therapy (OT) has been suggested in clinical practice as an adjuvant therapy to physical exercise, however the evidence is limited for its recommendation. Thus, the aim of this study was to evaluate the effects of OT in combination with a physical exercise protocol on pain level in subjects with chronic low back pain. Forty-two volunteers were randomized into 2 groups: Control group (Ex): volunteers underwent a physical exercise protocol; Ozone Therapy Exercise Group (ExOT): volunteers underwent a resistance physical exercise protocol associated with OT. Interventions were performed twice a week for a period of 6 weeks, totaling 12 sessions. The exercise program consisted of exercises that strengthened, stretched, mobilized, coordinated and stabilized the abdominal, lumbar, pelvic and lower limb muscles. OT was applied at 5 points on the paravertebral muscles, bilaterally, totaling 10 points, through the intramuscular technique at a concentration of 20 g/ml and with a volume of 2 mL of ozone right after each proposed exercise session. For assessment and reassessment, the Numerical Pain Scale (END) was applied; disability index (Oswestry Disability Index); flexibility test (Third finger to floor test); trunk flexion/extension mobility test (Gonimetry); kinesiophobia (Kinesiophobia Cap Scale); emotional state (Anxiety Numerical Scale - ENA) and assessment of the perception of the global effect (Global Effect Perception Scale - EPEG). The results showed that both the Ex and the ExOT groups had a lower pain level, lower scores in disability tests, improved flexibility, lower scores in kinesiophobia when compared to the initial values. However, the lowest scores for the level of pain, disability and the highest scores for the level of perception of recovery were evidenced in the ExOT group. Thus, it can be suggested that OT associated with the physical exercise program was a more effective method in reducing pain and functional disability in the treatment of CLBP.

Reabilitação mandibular total fixa sobre quatro implantes all on four
(Universidade Brasil, 2016) Antonio, Gláucia Lopes; Haleplian, Paulo; Rocha, Bruno Soares
The fixed oral rehabilitation of edentulous ridges has been supported by the literature and successfully used in everyday practice. However, professionals are challenged daily to seek new treatment options, because there are still some limitations in rehabilitation treatment. In some cases of edentulous patients, treatment with implant-supported prosthesis it is almost impossible without complex techniques such as nerve transposition and grafting in the posterior maxilla and mandible. A technique described in the literature that has been used very successfully is called the All-on-four. It consists of the insertion of four implants, and the inclined distal and loading with immediate loading. Allowing the placement of longer implants, Improving support prosthetic arm less "cantilevered" distance inter implant and anchoring in the bone. The aim of this study is to make a literature review on the All-on-four system rehabilitation with immediate loading in edentulous jaws, evaluating whether this is a safe and feasible technique.
