Item Desenvolvimento de aplicativo para dispositivos móveis de mensuração de injestão proteica diária por pessoas idosas(Universidade Brasil, 2022-09-30) Duarte e Silva, Fábio Carniello; Simonato, Luciana Estevam; Magalhães, Daniel Souza FerreiraTechnology is part of the daily life, and the ageing population will expand its use by the elderly people for several purposes, health care for example. Nutrition in geriatrics is gaining increasing relevance, in particular, the goals of protein ingestion, that have been increasing recently. Therefore, mobile apps can be used to track inadequacies in this regard. This research aimed to develop an app that performs a 24-hour food diary by the elderly user, in an automated way, submitting it to quality tests and usabilityvalidation. It was developed with a focus on the specificities of this group and subjectedto quality tests in an exhausting way. The usability was evaluated in two stages: Stage1(N=8) -central group discussion, which took place before the elaboration of its finalversion, including elderly users in the development process; and Stage 2 (N = 18) -evaluation by elderly participants who did not have cognitive decline identified by the10-point cognitive screening tool (10-CS), using the System Usability Scale (SUS scale). The final version of the PROT+ app for Android, obtained after quality tests andproposals made by the focused discussion group, presented screens for simple andintuitive use, and a tutorial video to guide the user. Data from the SUS scale performedby 16 participants, were analyzed by groups divided by schooling and age range. The average of the groups with schooling from zero to four years, five to 11 years, andhigher than or equal to 12 formal years of study were 80 (Interquartile Range (IQR) 48.13), 95 (IQR 15) and 92.5 (IQR 10), respectively. And for age range from 60 to 69 years old, 70 to 79 years old, and over 80 years old, were 95 (IQR 8.75), 85 (IQR33.75), and 87.5 (IQR 10), respectively. There were no differences in usability betweenthe groups by schooling, but there was a large difference between the 60-69 and 70-79 age groups. However, all averages were higher than the scores of other applicationsdeveloped for elderly users and satisfactory by the SUS scale. Therefore, the PROT+app is a geriatric nutritional tool, which is easy to use, with an interface adapted to the specificity of its target audience and demonstrated satisfactory performance in allrequirements evaluated after functional and non-functional quality tests, as well as usability.Item Determinação da exigência de triptofano em dietas para pacus (Piaractus mesopotamicus)(Universidade Brasil, 2024) Correia, Lígia Gabriela; Mansano, Cleber Fernando MenegassoThe Pacu (Piaractus mesopotamicus) is one of the fish with the highest development rate in national fish farming, in addition to producing meat with excellent nutritional value, being one of the most produced native fish in Brazil. Feed is the most expensive item in animal production, reaching up to 70% depending on the species of farming, with protein (amino acids) being the most expensive nutrient. Therefore, this study aimed to analyze the use of tryptophan by fish and evaluate the effect of adding this amino acid to practical diets. Three hundred juvenile tilapia with an initial average weight of 12.15 ± 0.15 grams were used, distributed in 20 experimental boxes containing 150 liters of water under continuous aeration and supply, and fed twice a day for a period of 60 days. Five types of diets with different levels of tryptophan inclusion (1.31; 1.96; 2.55; 3.15 and 3.79 g kg-1) were formulated. After the end of the study, the performance variables such as weight gain (g) and feed conversion rates (g/g) were calculated, which were respectively 5.53 (2.49); 6.88 (1.76); 7.42 (1.75); 8.27 (1.53) and 10.07 (1.29), for the tryptophan inclusion levels (1.31; 1.96; 2.55; 3.15 and 3.79 g kg-1). The best values (p<0.05) of weight gain and feed conversion were found for the fish that received the diet with 2.55 g kg-1. To estimate the ideal tryptophan level in the diet (12 to 25 g), the quadratic polynomial model was applied based on weight gain, obtaining the following equation: y = -2.2145x2 + 11.406x – 5.4099; R² = 0.82, thus, the best tryptophan level for maximum weight gain was estimated at 2.58 g kg-1. It is concluded that the optimal level of digestible tryptophan in diets for Pacus juveniles for better performance and nutritional efficiency was determined at 2.58 g kg-1 DM (0.92% of dietary protein) based on quadratic regression analysis for the fish weight gain variable.Item Produção de silagem de milho fertilizado com biossólido: composição bromatológica(Universidade Brasil, 2023-05) Alayon, Lucas Henrique; Bertipaglia , Liandra Maria Abaker; Melo, Gabriel Mauricio Peruca deThe objective of this study was to evaluate the use of biosolids as a partial substitute for mineral fertilizer in the culture of corn for silage production on the bromatological composition. The experimental area has a 23-year history of biosolids use. In 1997/98 (implementation), the experiment was set up in randomized block design with 4 treatments and 5 repetitions, totaling 20 plots. In the first year, the treatments used in the installation of the experiment were: T1 = control (without application of biosolid (BI) and without mineral fertilization); T2 = 2.5 t ha-1; T3 = 5 t ha-1, T4 = 10 t ha-1 of BI (dry base). In the second year, the witness started to receive mineral fertilization based on soil analysis and Bulletin 100 indications. From the fourth year on, the dose 2.5 t ha-1 of BI was replaced by 20 t ha-1 with the purpose of increasing the risks of pollution and phytotoxicity. Over the 23 years of experimentation, four crops were used (corn, sunflower, guandu and crotalaria), and the biosolids applied came from three Sewage Treatment Plants (STPs) in the State of São Paulo (Barueri, Monte Alto and Franca). In the 23rd year, the biosolid was obtained from the ETE of Monte Alto/SP, operated by SABESP and corn (VT PRO 2 - silage production) was used as test plant. The harvest point for ensiling was when the majority of the plants presented dry matter of 35%. The forage was ensiled in experimental mini silos and the silos were opened after 150 days of fermentation process. The samples were evaluated for composition of crude protein, neutral detergent fiber, acid detergent fiber, lignin, cellulose, and hemicelluloses. No significant difference was observed between the treatments evaluated on the contents of protein, fiber fraction, lignin and mineral matter of the silages. It was concluded that the use of biosolids as fertilizer in corn culture does not affect the nutritional quality of the silages obtained and can partially replace chemical fertilization
