Item Aditivos zootécnicos associados aos antimicrobianos sobre o desempenho, diferencial de leucócitos e atividade de fagocitose de frangos de corte(Universidade Brasil, 2022) Castro, Kenes Leonel de Morais; Sgavioli, Sarah; Santos, Elaine TalitaThe use of zootechnical additives in poultry is an important tool to assist in synergy with the action of antimicrobial performance enhancers (APE). Therefore, the aim of this study was to evaluate the use of zootechnical additives in association with APE on the performance, leukocyte differential and phagocytosis activity of broilers. Were used, 1,400 male chicks of the Cobb® lineage, one day old, distributed in a completely randomized experimental design, with seven treatments, eight replications with 25 birds per experimental unit. The treatments were composed of a basal diet without the use of APE, a basal diet with the addition of APE; basal diet with APE + prebiotics 1 (fructooligosaccharides and galactooligosaccharides) and 2 (1.3 and 1.6 beta-glucans and mannanoligosaccharides); basal diet with APE + prebiotic 1; basal diet with APE + probiotic (Bacillus subtillis LFU160); basal diet with APE + essential oil (cashew nut shell liquid (CSL) and basal diet with APE + organic acid (glycerides of butyric acid). There was an effect (P<0.05) on weight gain, feed intake, feed conversion and the productive efficiency index for broilers from 1 to 44 days of age, with better results for treatments with zootechnical additives plus APE. There was also an effect (P<0.05) on variables related to phagocytosis activity, in general, treatments without APE and with APE, without the use of additives, had the highest percentages and number of occurrences of this activity. The use of zootechnical additives associated with antimicrobials performance enhancers can be used in diets for broiler from 1 to 44 days of age, as they contribute to performance, as well as helping to modulate the poultry's immune system. It can be concluded that zootechnical additives can be used in association with APE to ensure better feed conversion of birds from 1 to 44 days of age and better development of the immune system of broilers, especially in the initial phase.Item Biologia do desenvolvimento cartilaginoso e ósseo de frangos de corte(Universidade Brasil) Martins, Julyana Machado da Silva; Sgavioli, Sarah; Adorno, Letícia Salomão Barbosa; Café, Marcos BarcellosItem Boletim Técnico da Produção Animal, 40 / Universidade Brasil : certificação da produção de ovos em sistemas cage free(Universidade Brasil, 2018) Taborda, José Valmir da Silva; Silva, Vanessa Karla; Biavatti, Hildene Andrey Zago; Sgavioli, SarahItem Desenvolvimento de dispositivo móvel para mensurar variáveis biometeorológicos na criação de aves de produção(Universidade Brasil, 2022) Bortoletto Neto, Osvaldo; Sgavioli, Sarah; Pereira, Luiz Arthur MaltaIn poultry production systems, the environment in which the birds are raised plays a fundamental role in productivity, so it is necessary that the biometerorological variables of the facilities are controlled so that the birds can express behavioral and physiological responses appropriate to their development. Therefore, it is extremely important for poultry research to have a device capable of measuring biometerorological variables in poultry facilities, such as broilers, commercial layers and breeders. Thus, the present work aimed to develop and validate a mobile device capable of measuring dry bulb temperature (TA), relative humidity (RH), wind speed (VV), black globe temperature and dew point temperature (Tpo). The base of the device was developed in a 3D printer, where the ArduinoMega 2560 microcontroller, the display, an SD Card to record the programming information and the RTC (Real Time Clock - digital clock) were placed, in addition to the sensors to measure the bioclimatic variables. The results obtained indicate that the system worked correctly and allows the measurement and storage of the proposed biometerorological variables through sensors and the equation programmed into the device for dew point temperature. The validation with the use of commercial equipment showed that the device has accuracy in the measurements performed and demonstrated that it can be used as a tool for producers to verify the environmental conditions of the facilities. Item Desenvolvimento e validação de dispositivo móvel para verificar o conforto térmico de aves de produção(Universidade Brasil, 2024) Tavares, Juliana Campos; Sgavioli, Sarah; Brennecke, KätheryIn poultry farming, thermal comfort is related to environmental conditions in commercial facilities, where ideal values ensure the development of the birds' maximum genetic potential, promoting performance and welfare. The aim of this study was to develop and validate a mobile device to measure environmental variables, calculate indices, classify the comfort of poultry production (broilers, commercial layers and breeders) at different ages and validate the device. The system was based on the development of a low-cost portable device to measure environmental variables such as dry-bulb tem perature, relative humidity, air velocity, black-bulb temperature and dew point, and to calculate thermal comfort indices. The environmental variables were collected using two mobile devices (a commercial one and the one developed in this project) to validate the equipment. The mobile device proved to be effective and was able to measure the variables, calculate the indices, evaluate the thermal comfort of the birds and propose management adjustments to optimize the environment of the facility according to the age and breed of the birds. In terms of validation, the device can be used to integrate the equations into the programming for adaptation. However, the device needs to be validated in future studies in terms of flight speed, carbon dioxide concentration and atmospheric pressure. The development of the low-cost mobile device can be consid ered as an alternative solution for the assessment and monitoring of thermal comfort in breeding birds, contributing to the performance and welfare of the animals and also allowing the environment of the facility to be adapted as required.Item Efeito da inclusão de pigmentantes naturais à dieta de frangos de corte sobre o desempenho. e coloração da pele do peito(Universidade Brasil, 2019) Biavatti, Hildene Andrey Zago; Mello, Juliana Lolli Malagoli de; Sgavioli, SarahItem Eficiência do uso de cipermetrina sobre o controle de cascudinhos e desempenho do frango de corte.(Universidade Brasil, 2019) Souza, Christian Joppert Dias de; Santos, Elaine Talita; Sgavioli, SarahItem Estudo de meta-análise sobre a desinfecção de ovos férteis de matrizes.(Universidade Brasil, 2020) Rieger, Giancarlo; Andretta, Inês; Sgavioli, SarahItem Índices de conforto térmico em aves de produção: revisão sitemática(Universidade Brasil, 2021) Calderaro, Cristhiano Ferreira; Sgavioli, Sarah; Pereira, Luiz Arthur MaltaThe thermal comfort and ambience are subjects of study that aims to achieve animal well-being. There are several studies that cite thermal comfort indexes and variables suitable for poultry breeding, nevertheless, it was not found any survey per category, such as broiler chicken, layer hens and breeders. Considering this issue importance, the present study aimed to elaborate a systematic review on environmental variables and thermal comfort indexes for poultry (broiler chicken, layer hens and broiler breeders). This systematic review was accomplished through search and selection of complete papers published on scientific journals, within three digital data banks (Scopus, Scielo and PubMed) from a total of 20.148 selected papers, just 60 were included at this review data bank. The used criteria for papers selection were publications on national and international journals, and papers containing data regarding performance and environmental variables or thermal comfort indexes. The selected papers complete version was severely evaluated regarding its quality and relevance. In the data bank created for this review, the broiler chicken category contributed with 66.66% of the papers, layer hens appeared in 31.66% of the scientific reports, and broiler breeders in 1.6%. For the broiler chicken and layer hens categories, it was observed presence in 80% of international publications for the earlier, and 84.21% for the later. The temperature parameter was the environmental variable with most occurrence in the studies for all the considered categories. Within the 60 papers analyzed in this systematic review, only 20% of it calculated thermal comfort indexes. This leads us to conclude that, considering this study timeline, thermal comfort indexes for poultry, although present increasing research evolution, are tools that need to be more explored in studies aiming thermal comfort for poultry breeding.Item Uso de Fosfeto de Alumínio como controle alternativo de Alphitobius Diaperinus em cama de frango de corte(Universidade Brasil, 2020) Queiroz, Willian; Sgavioli, Sarah; Soares, Vando EdésioItem Viabilidade econômica do sistema Cage-free para poedeiras comerciais.(Universidade Brasil, 2018) Taborda, José Valmir da Silva; Silva, Vanessa Karla; Sgavioli, Sarah
