Este artigo reflete sobre a língua portuguesa bem como seu ensino e aprendizagem, em todos os níveis, à luz das relações mais ou menos tensas e possíveis entre o conhecimento do senso comum e o conhecimento das ciências da linguagem. Sinaliza, igualmente, que a competência linguística é adquirida de maneira mais eficiente com base também na consideração da língua em uso e não apenas em estudos exclusivos da gramática normativa ou prescritiva.
Abstract
This article reflects on the Portuguese language as well as its teaching and learning, at all levels, in the light of the more or less tense and possible relationships between the knowledge of common sense and the knowledge of language sciences. It also indicates that linguistic competence is acquired more efficiently based on the consideration of the language in use and not only on studies exclusively of normative or prescriptive grammar.
