Resumo

The process of home care is a modality of health care that promotes care and multidisciplinary action in health care seeking an alternative to hospital admission in order to reduce damage and consequences to the patient's health both from a physical point of view. and emotional for the process of home care to occur in a healthy way, it is necessary to have a caregiver, who is often one of the family members, who can develop anxiety and other associated pathologies. Aiming to understand the levels of anxiety in informal caregivers this research aims to evaluate the levels of anxiety in informal caregivers hospitalized at home in the city of Teresina-PI. The research is classified by qualitative and quantitative, the population studied was characterized by 49 informal caregivers. Sociodemographic questionnaires and the Hamilton scale were applied in order to analyze psychic and somatic anxiety. The caregivers' profiles are mostly female, being daughters and wives, mostly with incomplete higher education, of those investigated (65.30%) showed a normal anxiety condition. The data obtained in the study were contrary to the vast majority of studies, which in the studied samples present the highest percentage of evaluated individuals with scores compatible with pathological anxiety. Despite the low scores compatible with anxiety disorders, participants with results compatible with severe anxiety were evidenced, concomitant with sociodemographic profiles compatible with several studies that point out that the act of health care, at home, focuses on female figures, with an overload of work. tasks and most of them do not carry out work activities outside the home environment.
