This study aimed to evaluate the application of biosafety and waste management standards in a Veterinary Clinical Pathology Laboratory. The methodology used was exploratory and descriptive. They observed the spaces, the movement of people, equipment and materials, highlighting the critical points found. They also observed there are risks in all activities developed in the sector. They were detected faults in personal hygiene (loose hair), handling inadequate biological material and chemical agents without personal protective equipment (PPE), risk of accidents, inadequate clothing, ergonomic risks, excessive noise, insufficient lighting and incorrect disposal of contaminated products. They concluded that, during the activities, the evaluated laboratory presented a series of risks to safety standards and good practices in the analysis laboratory. In order to resolve or minimize this problem, initiatives are necessary such as training students and collaborators, implementing good lab practices and a waste management plan, directed to the control and or solution of all factors unfavorable to the conduct of activities. These actions can contribute to the quality and responsibility of the results, guarantee, safety and health of all professionals in the service and the environment.PDFpt-BRopenAccessAmbiente de trabalhoNormas de segurançaPontos críticosRiscos ambientaisBiossegurança e gerenciamento de resíduos em laboratório de patologia clínica veterináriamasterThesisCB
