In addition to a leisure area, it offers opportunities to socialize, exercise citizenship, promote the environment and increase one’s quality of life. This work aimed to carry out an evaluation in Fernandópolis, SP (Brazil) squares, through the quantiqualitative analysis of the architectural elements, infrastructure, furniture and landscaping, in order to understand the performance of these spaces and to assist in future adjustments in the municipal sphere for the services enhancement provided to the population. Research on historical, bibliographic, photographic documentary and in loco visits were carried out, which enabled the material identification and quantification, and the equipment and vegetation conservation state. It was concluded that most squares lack infrastructure and investments in the conservation and maintenance of their architectural and landscape elements. The 2012 and 2020 analysis indicates that there were no improvements in the period, which is worrying, since the city population has grown and aged, and the squares are important instruments for health and well-being. As for the trees and palms found, 89% are considered exotic, highlighting the need for greater diversification of plant species, including those native from the city.PDFpt-BRopenAccessPraças públicaÁreas sociaisPaisagismo urbanoLazerQualidade de vidaAvaliação das praças da cidade de Fernandópolis-SPmasterThesisCB
