Sistema de monitoramento de iminentes casos de raiva e interação com áreas vizinhas para controle integrado

Abstract

Rabies is a disease that has caused great concern, since it causes cattle mortality, causes great economic losses, and causes serious health problems, mainly because it is a zoonosis. Control should be done through vaccination of animals, however, there are still difficulties in identifying the disease in a timely manner to prevent the spread of the virus among the herd. Given the importance of rabies encephalomyelitis in domestic herbivore herds in Brazil, this study aims to develop a system for controlling rabies by creating an easy-to-use application that alerts farmers to nearby properties with rabies outbreaks, via SMS messages. The application can be accessed through the electronic address http://www.pmppa.com.br/morcegos/, from any device with internet access, be it a desktop, notebook, tablet or smartphone. The system is easy to use for users with different levels of computer familiarity, using the PHP language, designed for web development and executed on the server. In addition to PHP, HTML, CSS, JavaScript and the Bootstrap framework were used, which facilitate the creation of responsive websites. The database structure was designed and created in MySQL. The program was validated by black box testing to confirm the efficiency of all its functionalities, enabling the issuance of SMS messages to producers within a certain radius of the cases found. It was concluded that the application is viable, effective and represents a practical and technological contribution to the integrated control of rabies in herbivores. In addition, the research has the potential to be replicated for other zoonoses of mandatory notification, and can be incorporated as a strategic tool by public animal surveillance and public health institutions.
