Abstract

To maintain the status of a foot-and-mouth disease-free zone without vaccination, the implementation of animal traceability in livestock auctions strengthens surveillance and ensures more accurate animal identification. This research aimed to develop a platform for integrated management of cattle traceability in livestock auctions using individual identification and animal tracking via RFID (Radio Frequency Identification), allowing producers and auction managers to input and manage the necessary information to ensure the sanitary traceability of animals before, during, and after the auction. To achieve this, a programming language suitable for the project was chosen, developed in PHP (Hypertext Preprocessor), focused on web development and executed on the server side. The database was structured and implemented using MySQL, a relational management system capable of storing various types of application data, robust enough to support the platform's growth and increasing complexity. The system was programmed with a clear separation between the presentation and business logic layers. Tests were conducted by different administrators and users with experience in livestock management, who simulated producer registration, animal registration, movement tracking, auction creation, and sales logging to validate the platform's functionality and usability, taking into account the operational particularities of livestock auctions and the diversity of user profiles involved. The developed platform was made freely available at www.pmppa.com.br/leilao. Its use proved to be relevant, as it allows the individual identification of each animal from the departure from the farm to the auction, recording its entire history in the system up to the point of sale.
