Resumo
The canine atopy is an inherited trend of development of lgE antibodies against ambient alergens, being the second more common allergic cutaneous riot in dogs, is esteemed that it involves 3- 15% of the canine population. The atopy is described as a hypersensibility reaction type t mediated for the lgE. The pruritus one is the initial signal of the illness, that leads to a selftraumatism that can be severe. The diagnosis is based on the history, the clinical signals and the results of appropriate disgnostic tests. The treatment of atopiarequíresprevention of the contact with the alergen, administration of antiinflammatory, immunotherapy and treatment with antibiotics and antiftmgal agents. The combination of these treatments depends on the individual development of the injuries of the patients. This work has as the objective to carry through literature revision on atopic dermatitis in dogs.
