Comparativo entre equipamento de bioimpedância para avaliação corpórea de pacientes com Lipedema.
(Universidade Brasil, 2024) Andrade, Flavia Danielle Correa; Marciano, Fernanda Roberta
Lipedema is characterized as a chronic and progressive disease that affects women with a disposition of subcutaneous adipose tissue that causes a disproportionate bilateral increase in volume, commonly in the lower limbs, which presents functional limitation and pain. There is a restriction of diagnosis, leading to subgnostic and influencing treatments and their effectiveness, which can be improved based on body assessment methods. This research compares the results of two types of bioimpedance measurement equipment for performing body evaluation of patients with lipedema. The objective is to show whether there is a discrepancy in the results of the body evaluation of patients with lipedema based on the use of different bioimpedance equipment. A clinical study was carried out with 42 patients with lipedema for evaluation, referred to a dermatofunctional physical therapy office in the city of Santos. The methodology adopted is biostatistics based on descriptive statistics and frequencies. The results show that the low Pearson correlation observed for the smartwatch and the proposed model suggests the need for further studies, especially with patients who present other pathologies in order to promote a broader validation of this type of device. It is concluded that until new studies show a greater effectiveness of the parameters analyzed for the smartwatches, body composition and nutritional profile should be measured by the BIA present in the InBody scale.
